The main focus of this event was to delve into the cyber framework for our customers, emphasizing a strategic approach and proven methods to tackle cyber threats. We concentrated on ransomware prevention, exploring the essential components needed to combat, avoid, and prevent ransomware in the network. This session was particularly designed for customers new to Fortinet, introducing them to the basics of establishing a secure network. In the second part, we shifted our focus to the concept of Zero Trust: understanding what Zero Trust is, how to implement it, and configure a network based on this principle.

We discussed the definitions of Zero Trust, including insights from NIST on the subject. The conversation then moved to creating a Zero Trust infrastructure, highlighting that while many security controls and vendors can achieve this, we specifically looked at how to implement a Zero Trust network with Fortinet. We delved into Fortinet’s solutions like FortiSASE, FortiEMS, and the critical role of SDWAN in building Zero Trust networks.
